Why Your Support Matters

Please Join the Circle for Children in its 100th Year
by Donating or Sponsoring our 2027 Annual Fundraising Gala.
How much does it cost?
The lack of opportunities for students in Atlanta's Westside is profound. The 30314 zip code has the highest school dropout rate in the city, and three out of four schools in the area are graded as chronically failing. Many students are academically three to four levels below grade level.

Here are some examples of the areas of need at City of Refuge that your funds can help with:
$12,000
City School Year
$12,000 funds a full year of school for a City School student.

$5,000
City Preschool Year

$5,000 funds a full year scholarship for a preschool student.
$3,500
Summer Camp Program

$3,500 funds a student’s scholarship in the summer camp program.
$2,500
After School Programming

$2,500 funds a semester of after-school programming for one student

$1,000
Class Field Trip

$1,000 funds a field trip for an entire classroom.
$500
After School
Transportation

$500 funds transportation for children from the community to the after school program
$150
Books & School Supplies

$150 funds books and critical school supplies for one student.
This isn’t just an investment in education. It’s an investment in the children of this Atlanta.
With your support, we can empower them to become the future leaders of this community.

That’s an investment worth making.

Our Mission: To give aid and encouragement in promoting the education and well-being of At-risk children in the state of Georgia.

For the 2025-26 fundraising year, our beneficiary is City of Refuge in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • City of Refuge is celebrating 27 years of providing transitional housing for women & their children coming out of crisis in one of the most crime ridden zip codes in Atlanta.
  • City of Refuge also provides daycare, preschool, after school programs, psychological & therapeutic services, plus medical care & on-site school, all under one roof.
  • City of Refuge's comprehensive approach helps to break the cycle of poverty, homelessness, and abuse that are too common in historically marginalized and economically disadvantaged communities.

Scholarships

In addition to our primary beneficiary, The Circle also funds scholarships for students in need via the Linda Gross Memorial Scholarship Fund.
  • On average we help to financially support eight scholarship students each year.
  • Our Circle Scholars demonstrate academic promise and financial need.
  • Scholars include former foster kids or children who have participated in programs offered by current or past beneficiaries.
  • Members of our scholarship committee stay in touch with each scholar to offer encouragement and promote continued academic success.

The circle is a 100% volunteer organization who has contributed millions of dollars in aid and scholarships, as well as countless hours of hands-on service to youth who have suffered abuse, neglect and abandonment.

Devereaux Behavioral Health, a previous beneficiary, has used our donations to renovate living areas to bring comfort, warmth, color, and security to the residents’ environment that they often have not experienced before. Donations have also transformed a run down space into an updated Salon. We also assisted with funds to transform a sports field, including adding dugouts, backstop and equipment storage providing more athletic opportunities to the children. As one Deveraux employed described it, “starting with mud and now having a facility comparable to the nearby private school.”
